Community Services

Landmark on Main Street is also home to three not-for-profit organizations that provide valuable community services to children and their families throughout the area.

The Port Washington Children's Center

As you pass by Landmark, you will see the delighted faces and voices of the Port Washington Children’s Center’s boys and girls as they enjoy playing outdoors. Toddlers, aged 18 to 36 months play in their own specially-designed section of the playground, pre-schoolers, aged 3 and 4 play on safe climbing units, and KidsPort kids, grades K — 6, play in their playground and the park.

If you were to visit each of the classrooms, you would see children eagerly engaged in art and music activities, listening to stories, reading their own books, building with blocks, engaging in dramatic play, as they learn to live cooperatively with one another. In KidsPort, you would see children doing homework, as well.

The Center is open daily from 7:15 am to 6:30 pm to accommodate parents’ working hours. Families from all segments of our community enroll their children in the Center so that they can work with the peace of mind that the children are in a safe, nurturing, educational setting. The excellent staff of the Children’s Center will help their children meet with success in elementary school.
