Landmark on Main Street, The Nicholas Center and Town of North Hempstead Councilwoman Mariann Dalimonte present “A Mother’s Guide Through Autism…Autism, Neurodiversity, Services and Support” on October 24 at 7pm. This free event feature author Brigitte Shipman and her new book, as well as a Q&A panel with other accomplished professionals that work closely with the autistic community.

Councilwoman Mariann Dalimonte serves the 6th District in the Town of North Hempstead. A 4th generation Port Washington resident, her love of the community has been reflected in her passionate engagement with local organizations, including The Nicholas Center. Mariann’s service evolved to also include key roles in important organizations that achieved significant successes for the community and its residents. More importantly, she built a reputation for bringing people together.
About the Authors:
Brigitte Shipman is an author, speaker, life coach, and mother to her two adult sons. She helps moms of autistic kids move from grief, heartbreak, and feeling lost so that they can be joyful, resilient, and fully present with their kids on the spectrum. She was an educator in the public school system for more than 20 years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
Joseph Shipman was born in 1992 in Mountain Home, AR. Despite grim predictions by some medical professionals following his autism diagnosis, Joseph has thrived in his life garnering recognition for his work at radio stations.
